To me, writing is both a personal and professional experience. While getting the job complete and published is the main goal, I love to be able to connect not only who I'm writing for, but also those I get the privilege to write about and for. For a quick and easy introduction to those in my network, I figured a brief write up about who I am and what I do when I'm not creating was the perfect way to accomplish this.
Thanks for checking me out!

Hello there!
nice to meet you!
I was born in a small town in Western Kentucky, spending most of my years learning hard working ethics and practicing every creative outlet I could possibly find. I graduated high school in 2016 and started college the following fall at Murray State University. During my time at Murray, I continued excelling in education, as well as practicing my craft of performing for stage plays, musicals and student films. After graduating in 2021, I set off to begin my true Journalism career.
I was able to land a job right out of college, The Mayfield Messenger actually contacted me through a professor recommendation and I grabbed the chance as fast as I could. Not a week into my first journalism job, a historic super cell came through my hometown and destroyed everything, taking 28 lives and damaging hundreds more. During this time, my reporting was the only way people knew where to get food, water, shelter, etc. I was extremely honored to be able to provide resources, but also tell stories of those that we had lost, local heroes and rebuilding plans. I believe I learned what real journalism is - heart and soul. Sure, hitting new accomplishments in the field are amazing, but getting the chance to be vulnerable with those you're interviewing, teaching the public and more - that's where I fell in love.
My plan after graduation was not to stay in Kentucky, however I am not one to pass opportunity up. During this time, I became involved with a Local vegas 501c3 - Critical Care Comics. This organization visits children and their families throughout the valley as superheroes, making their time a little bit easier during treatment when they can. I fell in love with not only this organization, but with Vegas itself. So, I took a leap of faith, packed some boxes and moved out West.
Now, I enjoy my time in the desert as a freelance writer to multiple outlets, a community volunteer, a software developer and the most extra aunt I could possibly be. For the future, I hope to be a writer for major establishments, publish children's books relating to mental health and prospering a healthy and fruitful life. With all of this said, my favorite thing is connecting and experiencing the world and sharing my love of all things nerdy. We can talk AP, or we can talk superheroes, d&d and comics. I'm here for it all!
Thanks for coming along the journey!
a little more about critical care comics
Aside from writing and beach vacations, I love to educate and share about Critical Care. It is a major part of my life, and a non-profit I fully believe in.
I am good friends with Yelena Belova, a super spy who gets the privilege to go into hospitals and visit those in their most vulnerable times.
Critical Care brings not only visits, but brings comic books, toys, games and life long memories to families across the valley.
